Job Description

Position Summary:

The Product Coding Specialist's primary role is to support our customers by identifying the best product based on incomplete product data. This person must ensure that products identified are the right products to offer to meet the customer's requirements. The selection must be accurate and strategical.

Working directly with customer facing teams, this person will identify customer behaviours (based on specific requirements or previous year's information) and propose the most relevant and suitable product from our existing portfolio.

This person is also responsible for achieving deadlines, by having a clear communication with the different related collaborators and clearly set up expectations.

The person will also be responsible for maintaining the coding database with the aim of making it more complete and easier to be used, in collaboration with the Data Architects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify product codes based on customer driven descriptions.
  • Identify the product to be proposed considering portfolio strategy, country restrictions and product features.
  • Work actively with the sales team to understand customer preferences and a strategy to move forward.
  • Complete, identify gaps or errors and propose improvements for the available databases.
  • Analyse coding efficiency, following up the result based on % of codes identified and win rates.
  • Support digital platforms and enrich our database with accurate and strategic products.
  • Drive internal process improvement through active use of the PPI Business Systems.
  • Actively participate on Governance activities and ensure the use of Governance when appropriate.
  • Serve as a backup for the Cross Referencing specialists when required.
  • Support and collaborate with US shared services groups to align Europe data management and strategy.
  • Perform other projects and duties as delegated and assigned by manager.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related scientific field.
  • Broad knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and consumables; familiarity with major laboratory supply brands; lab experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and demonstrate flexibility with priorities.
  • Excellent digital literacy, specifically MS Excel.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, analytical and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Willingness to learn and seek process improvement
  • Direct experience working across European countries; ability to speak additional European languages a plus.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

Excellent organizational and customer focused skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work on own initiative, whilst still be a strong team member.

Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an ability to quickly grasp new software tools (proficiency in Excel and Access preferred)
