Join our outstanding team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as NPI Sourcing Engineer where you will lead the sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, components, and assemblies. Your efforts will result in cost savings, high-quality products, faster manufacturing, and timely delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, components, and assemblies to lower material costs, improve product quality, shorten manufacturing cycle-time, and ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Support new product/transfer program by acting as the focus person to coordinate procurement activities until the first production run.
  • Provide technical sourcing support to R&D to meet aggressive CoGS targets and/or new suppliers/materials for development.
  • Drive the release of materials in a timely manner with project core team/R&D to meet production build dates.
  • Support R&D sourcing efforts by identifying and purchasing components during prototype builds.
  • Lead and drive sourcing activities to achieve cost-saving targets or supply risk mitigation for new product/transfer programs.
  • Advocate the category strategies within the business during the product development phase.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 5 years experience in relevant field
  • Successfully lead sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, and components for new product/transfer programs, coordinating activities until first production run.
  • Experience in supporting R&D sourcing efforts by identifying and purchasing components during prototype builds.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and driving sourcing activities to achieve cost-saving targets or risk mitigation in NPI programs.
  • Ability to investigate new or alternate sources of supply to support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues.
