Lead sales support and reporting for the Business Management Organization. Lead and facilitate business growth. Support services such as quotation, RFI new business opportunity support, business analytics (including S&OP support) and general key performance indicator reporting.

A Day in the Life:

  • Drive the growth objectives for the site through building market strategies for key offerings, owning sales interface and partnering to drive new business, supporting business site strategy objectives, aligning with site master plans, and supporting SLT (site leadership) decision making with proper market / proposal analytics.
  • Be responsible for demand planning and forecast accuracy support and initial new business forecasting.
  • Supervise business management reporting, including important metrics and financial reports, and collaborate with the Business Management leadership team to develop action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Lead delivery against site service revenue targets.
  • Accountable for portfolio analysis of revenue risk, profitability, and associated action plans.
  • Solicit market insights from clients, network and marketplace.
  • Provide new business opportunity support in quotations, RFI and RFP inquiries
  • Provide analytics to support fit within network and consistency within site competencies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and reports potential hazards.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, pharmacy or business required
  • Master's in Business Administration or similar is preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in business, or project management and/or client service environment or technical services with client interface.
  • Previous Sales or Business Development experience is an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliance.
  • Commercial business orientation and financial acumen required.
  • Advanced negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong Project Management skills including keeping client relationship on track and mending difficult relationships.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with influence and motivate cross-functional team members.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple project deliverables.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office programs and MS Project.
  • Proficiency with the English Language.

Standards and Expectations:

Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work harmoniously with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems SOP's and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines of deliverables in a proactive manner. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.

Physical Requirements:

Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks, sits or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Use of Personal Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator occasionally.
