Job Description
Position Summary:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Payroll Analyst I and contribute to accurate payroll calculations and timely payments for our employees. Your role involves maintaining compliance with SOX, Internal Audit, and federal/state laws. You will work with a dedicated team to improve payroll processes and create a great work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform bi-monthly payroll processes with exceptional accuracy.
- Manage Social Security activities, SDI, review SUA files, and complete variability calculations.
- Handle voluntary and non-voluntary termination calculations, coordinating the approval, payment, and accounting of terminations and severance payments.
- Provide payroll providers with data changes in the agreed format and by the agreed date on the payroll calendar, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data.
- Resolve queries from employees and key collaborators satisfactorily within agreed timelines.
- Maintain technical knowledge of statutory payments and deductions.
- Ensure the integrity of the SAT payroll viewer vs. payroll accounting (CFDI).
- Ensure timely government payments and payments to external payroll providers.
- Develop, implement, and verify controls for the payroll process, ensuring compliance with Data Privacy and Compliance principles.
- Ensure compliance with all labor financial obligations and respond to inquiries from labor authorities (REPSE, IMSS, STPS, SAT, Infonavit, Fonacot, Payroll Tax, etc.).
- Stay informed about local regulatory and policy changes, communicating and implementing key changes across teams.
- Support the tax team in reconciling tax obligation payments.
- Review payroll processes and suggest improvements.
- Provide information for regulatory requirements and internal control audits, managing changes in payroll systems.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration (Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources).
- Fluent in English.
- 3-5 years of experience in Mexico payroll and accounting environment within a global company.
Hiring Requirements:
- Proficient computer skills, including data processing and MS Office.
- Desired knowledge of Workday, Service now, and ADP.
- Customer service approach.
- Proficiency in performing diligent and accurate work with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively.
