How Will You Make an Impact?

The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and assisting with packaging equipment setup and startup while keeping safety and quality at the forefront of everything you do. You will also assist with GMP documentation, in-process testing, breakdown investigations, and repairs related to packaging production.

A Day in the Life:

  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned packaging equipment
  • Observe packaging equipment in operation and follow good troubleshooting practices to continuously improve and optimize performance
  • Drive safety culture and quality in all activities
  • Efficiently perform changeovers and cleanups to maintain patient safety and uphold cGMP standards
  • Document accurately and check personal work for quality and compliance
  • Participate in lean PPI (Practical Process Improvement) culture through tier boards, 5S, GEMBA, JDI, RCCM, and/ or Kaizen events
  • Encourage a positive culture of partnership and belonging where diversity is welcomed

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Required: No previous work experience required
  • Preferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English, including technical and scientific language
  • Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to communicate and work well in a team setting
  • Ability to read work instructions, procedures, manuals, and diagrams
  • Preferred: Experience in pharmaceutical production and/or packaging environment
  • Preferred: Mechanical proficiency

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced controlled cleanroom environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours a day)
  • Ability to operate a walk behind forklift (walkie stacker)
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, various styles of dust masks or respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, and scrubs or modified gowning
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move repetitively, including pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, bending, grasping, and crouching
