Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cold Room/Freezers -22degrees, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Location/Division Specific Information: The BioServices Team, at the Germantown, MD site focuses on the receipt, inventory storage, withdrawal, weighing, and shipment of chemical compounds used for cancer research.

How Will You Make an Impact?

The Operations Technician II supports operations by storing, weighing, and shipping compounds at temperatures ranging from ambient (room temperature) to -80 degrees C with potentially hazardous properties.

A Day in the Life: • Receive purchased chemical materials • Facilitate movement of materials, including hazardous materials, across the site • Weigh compounds to be shipped and return remaining compounds to their storage locations • Ship weighed compounds • Maintain supply inventory levels

How To Get Here Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science preferred.

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field where GXP processes are followed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Work independently and set priorities
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work together as a team
  • Able to work with methods to handle, process and store compounds using a computerized storage and retrieval system
  • Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Core business hours: 8AM - 5PM
