Location/Division Specific Information

Become part of our ambitious team in Chelmsford, MA within the Bioproduction (BPG) / Purification Process Analytics (PPA) division. We are focused on ensuring flawless manufacturing and testing of chromatography media.

As an Engineer I, Manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality production and testing standards. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to world-class projects and drive impactful results within a dynamic environment.

A Day in the Life:

  • Complete manufacturing protocols accurately and with limited supervision.
  • Perform duties within the corporate EH&S Standards.
  • Become a process owner; provide training and technical leadership within the specialized area.
  • Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures.
  • Complete projects as assigned and acquire high-quality results.
  • Interact effectively in a cross-functional setting.
  • Proactively identify areas for opportunity and drive efficient results.
  • Adhere to ISO13485 guidelines and the Thermo Fisher quality policy.
  • Use highly specialized equipment and instrumentation in daily manufacturing.
  • Responsible for the completion of all tasks assigned daily (working O/T may be required).

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field/science (preferably Chemical Engineering), preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • At least 1 year of Chemical, Operations, Manufacturing, or regulated environment experience required.
  • Experience with SAP or similar inventory control systems is desired.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Adept at using specialized manufacturing equipment and instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to train and lead within a specialized area.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Technical and operational expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality guidelines.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with potential exposure to various chemicals.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
