Position Overview:

The Graph Database/Ontology Lead is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of graph database systems within the organization. This role requires technical expertise in graph databases, cloud infrastructure, leadership skills to guide a team, and strategic insight to align database solutions with innovative ideas like AI/ML/LLM to accomplish business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Innovation:

- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for graph database technology within the organization.

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in graph database technologies.

- Propose innovative solutions to improve data management and analytics capabilities.

2. Database Design and Architecture:

- Design and develop scalable graph database solutions tailored to the organization's needs. - Architect the integration of graph databases with existing systems and data architectures.

- Ontology development and graph data modeling.

3. Implementation and Maintenance:

- Be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of graph database systems.

- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability within the graph database environment.

- Optimize database performance and solve issues.

- Build and handle graph databases for diverse use cases, from enterprise scale databases used for analytics to databases serving a single microservice.

4. Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a team of developers.

- Cultivate a collaborative and innovative team culture.

5. Collaboration and Customer Management:

- Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements.

- Liaise with customers to capture requirements and provide updates on database initiatives.

- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical customers effectively.

6. Documentation and Compliance:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.

- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.

Education:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Experience:

- Minimum 5 years experience in a related role.

- Demonstrable experience in graph database technologies such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune etc.

- Extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/Large Language Models applications using Graph DB.

- Technical Skills:

- Solid grasp of graph theory and algorithms.

- Proficiency in query languages like Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL.

- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.

- Soft Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
