How will you make an impact?
The Genetic Analysis Inside Sales Team is responsible for attaining sales quota by prospecting for new accounts, growing our product portfolio in existing accounts, and maintaining a high level of support for existing customers through the application of consultative and strategic selling presentations. This role serves in both a direct sales capacity while also coordinating with the field sales team and working across a highly matrixed organization.

The team is based in Darmstadt/Germany covering the DACH (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) region.

A Day in the Life:

  • Actively look after customers in genetic analysis who perform Capillary Electrophoreses Sequencing and qPCR analysis with a focus on selected customer accounts.
  • Prospect among new and active customers to generate leads and expand commercial funnel.
  • Initiate sales process by scheduling appointments; making initial presentation; understanding customer goals, priorities, and challenges.
  • Coordinate with field teams to progress opportunities through the sales cycle and close sales.
  • Expand sales in current accounts by introducing new products and services and developing new applications.
  • Document customer facing activities within our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Support pipeline management and sales tracking with use of CRM system and other designated IT tools.
  • Use strategic selling techniques within assigned accounts at all levels of the organization which influence purchasing decisions.
  • Develop, write, and implement a business plan for managing assigned territory annually, updated quarterly.
  • Develop and maintains deep current knowledge of market trends, new technologies, competitor activity and buying practices.
  • Apply product and application knowledge to effectively position our technologies in the market.

Keys to Success

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.

Experience

  • Hands-on laboratory research, molecular biology and/or sequencing research experience a plus.
  • Prior sales experience is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Sound knowledge of Genetic Analysis technologies and methods.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal efficiency and relationship development skills.
  • Self-motivated, persistent, and resilient, goal-oriented, enjoys operating in a driven environment.
  • Growth mindset, loves learning and can adapt to constantly evolving environments.

  • Fluent in German and English.
