Discover Impactful Work:

The Materials Planner III enables the continued success of the Single-Use Technology Division (SUD) by efficiently demonstrating the abilities to plan and order raw materials used in the manufacturing process. They ensure that master data is maintained appropriately to enable an accurate systemic signal to be generated that can be used as a baseline in our ordering process.

A day in the life:

  • Share standard methodologies with other sites within business unit and be regarded as Subject Matter Authority in the area of Materials Planning
  • Use MPS/MRP to drive materials planning and ordering of raw materials
  • Lead key item settings in ERP System to ensure proper system functionality
  • Plan and schedule MTS products and monitor excess inventory
  • Monitor and reconcile exception messages
  • Handles push-in / push-out of material delivery dates directly with suppliers to allow for the right balance of production plan stability and inventory investment
  • Raise backorders or supplier performance issues to Procurement Team
  • Ensure accurate rolling component forecasts are available to support strategic sourcing process and ongoing communication on future needs with our suppliers
  • Create inventory projections and reporting across Raw Materials, WIP and Finished Goods
  • Provide inputs for Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) and Sales, Inventory & Operations (SIOP) Meeting to facilitate discussions about Excess & Obsolete inventory and key shortages / excess
  • Coordinate closely with Operations and Manufacturing Planning to optimize schedule adherence
  • Collaborate with various departments to minimize schedule changes within the frozen window
  • Train as a backup for other members of the team
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities through PPI
  • Support expansion and harmonization projects

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Preference for Certification in APICS CPIM, CSCP, ISM CPSM, Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)

Experience

  • 3+ Years Minimum Experience in Materials Planning and/or Supply Chain Preferred
  • Proven experience in Procurement, Materials Planning or Supply Chain
  • Planning and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment applying MRP/ERP and APS (Oracle, ASCP, SAP, JDE, M2M, server-based systems)
  • Proficient in managing and analyzing data in Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing concepts and principles, finite scheduling, product flow, data management, and supply chain planning
