How will you make an impact?

The Materials Planner I schedules and supervises the movement of material through the production cycle. This role is also responsible for resolving material requirements from engineering and production schedules, coordinating the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.

What will you do?

  • Use ASCP/ERP System to drive materials planning and ordering of raw materials
  • Maintain key item settings in systems to ensure accurate system functionality
  • Handle push-in / push-out of material delivery dates in coordination with Purchasing Team to allow for the right balance of production plan stability and inventory investment
  • Raise backorders or supplier performance issues to Purchasing Team
  • Provide inputs for Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) and Sales, Inventory & Operations (SIOP) Meeting to facilitate discussions about Excess & Obsolete inventory and key shortages / excess
  • Coordinate closely with Operations and Manufacturing Planning to optimize schedule adherence
  • Train as a backup for other members of the team
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities
  • Assist in the allocation and shipment of materials around the network

How will you get here?

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Proven expertise in ERP/MRP Planning systems, including all relevant planning parameters such as inventory controls, replenishment, warehouse management and procurement functionality in ERP.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
  • Solid understanding of planning and purchasing systems.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to develop and provide reports to satisfy ongoing inquires on inventory, capacity and product availability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to optimally communicate critical information.
  • Good problem solving and reasoning skills to resolve problems varying in complexity relative to job level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field is in progress
  • APICS certification.
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification
