Job Description

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s) in a safe and efficient manner.

This role interacts with internal and external customers and requires strong communication and a customer centric attitude. The job encounters recurring work situations of a routine nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules. This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on-time daily and maintain strong attendance performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature, cold-room, and/or freezer-room
  • Unloading vehicles, opening packages and removing contents
  • Labelling goods with details of storage location
  • Picking goods for customer orders
  • Packing and sealing boxes
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Housekeeping, all work areas to be kept clean and tidy.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Entry level role with preferred 1-2 years working in a warehouse environment
  • Demonstrates Thermo Fisher Scientific's values - Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation.

Experience:

  • Preferred warehousing experience and the ability to bring a keen focus on occupational health and safety, productivity & throughput, quality and continuous improvement
  • Experience operating powered equipment at various height preferred
  • Experience using ERPs preferred

Skills:

  • Basic Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules required.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to collaborate and work with others
