Master Thesis Overview :

This thesis examines the obstacles faced by medical device manufacturers in staying in sync with global cybersecurity regulations. It focuses on the difficulties arising from legacy systems and outdated software that may not meet modern security standards. These obstacles can hinder manufacturers' ability to protect patient safety and maintain regulatory approval in diverse international markets. The Master thesis aims to explore barriers to compliance and propose solutions to help companies ensure device safety while navigating complex regulatory requirements.

Master Thesis objectives :

• Assess the key cybersecurity regulations governing medical devices in major global markets and their implications for medical device manufacturers.
• Analyze the compliance challenges associated with legacy systems and outdated software in medical devices.
• Identify current strategies and practices used by medical device manufacturers to address cybersecurity risks and achieve regulatory compliance.
• Provide recommendations for medical device manufacturers on overcoming compliance barriers while ensuring product safety and regulatory approval across markets.

• Conduct comprehensive research on global cybersecurity regulations for medical devices.
• Evaluate the specific challenges posed by legacy systems and outdated software in maintaining compliance.
• Collaborate with industry experts and collaborators to gather insights and data.
• Develop and propose innovative strategies to address cybersecurity risks and compliance barriers.
• Present findings and recommendations through detailed reports and presentations.

• Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience in the industry.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct rigorous research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Familiarity with global regulatory environments and cybersecurity standards is a plus.
