Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a world-class team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II. Our engineering role is tailored for those who are ambitious and accomplished in their field, ready to collaborate and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and/or monitor final approval of products through the complete production cycle.
  • Work from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements.
  • Coordinate production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, production, and engineering managers to coordinate schedules and communication.
  • Resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Accountable for customer service, inventory, and manufacturing cost, including optimized resource schedules.
  • Conduct capacity planning for rolling 12-18 months (equipment and shift capacity) with a total network view for capacity.
  • Plan monthly buckets to achieve customer service.
  • Level load production and align inventory impact.
  • Analyze demand patterns with demand planning to achieve a smooth production plan.
  • Lead ramp-up and ramp-down production for inventory planning at the site.
  • Ensure site reliability, inventory, and manufacturing cost, including optimized resource schedules.
  • Plan weekly buckets to achieve customer service.
  • Set up a feasible production schedule, considering capacity changes, shift models, and production wheel.
  • Apply priority tools to minimize impact during backlog situations.
  • Maintain daily alignment with manufacturing and manage deviations.
  • Support weekly ramp-up and ramp-down planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing planning or scheduling.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proven ability to successfully implement production schedules.
