Test & Verification Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of multidisciplinary Test & Verification engineers, responsible for the testing, integration, maintenance, documentation, and support of modules, systems, and products.
  • Provide technical and management leadership and mentorship for T&V engineers.
  • Maintain the R&D tool park of microscopes & test benches, according to (safety) standards, support the strategy development for the tool park and testing methodologies.
  • Provide leadership to align engineering with business goals. Lead the yearly cycle of competence management assessments, defining strategies to support upcoming trends and address identified gaps. This includes responsibilities for goal settings, performance evaluations, attracting new candidates, and organization of trainings.
  • Supervise the delivery of the team member's work within agreed budget, schedule, and quality guidelines. Provide effort estimations and collaborate with Program/Project managers to allocate team members to programs/projects requiring support. Ensure the team's output meets high-quality standards and take accountability for work.
  • Collaborate with other R&D Engineering leaders across organization to align strategies, standards, tooling, ways of working, and standard processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize processes, and enhance engineering capabilities (for instance MBE, DFSS, test automation, AI for non-SW people, etc.).
  • Cultivate collaboration with multi-functional teams and external partners to drive innovation and remain at the forefront of (test) engineering advancements. Stimulate IDF submissions and secure IP generation and protection.
  • Maintain relationships with key technology vendors and contractor agencies.

Requirements:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field is required. A PhD in these subject areas and/or significant prior design experience is preferred.
  • Advanced technical knowledge, conceptual thinking, and management skills, with 3-5 years of managerial experience in software quality leadership in a multidisciplinary project organization.
  • Frequently interacts with supervisors, group leaders, customers, and peers. Some interactions may involve senior management. Interactions normally involve matters and coordination between functional areas, other departments, customers, and the company. Respecting contributions of others and adopting alternative solutions if they are better.
  • Strong skills in persuading, inspiring, developing, and motivating to interact effectively with other people.
  • Problem-solving abilities, working on difficult objectives and problems where analysis of the situation or data requires an evaluation of variables. Requires independent judgment and thinking to develop solutions to problems. Authority to act within defined policies within the area of expertise/knowledge under management direction. Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve problems.
  • Confirmed ability to build consensus among key partners that may not be under management.
