Position objectives

The Manager, Technical Writing and Knowledge will lead a highly visible and dynamic team responsible for generating high-quality technical documentation and knowledge content for use by global field and remote colleagues. This manager will be responsible for developing, coaching, and empowering an agile group of Technical Writers that can shift and adapt to work cohesively with internal colleagues and provide a seamless documentation experience for stakeholders. This individual will also act as a key collaborative partner between Service & Support Product Development and Technical Support Leadership to assist their team in building vital relationships between these cross-functional groups.

Essential functions:

  • Gains alignment, prioritizes, and supports goals consistent with the Service and Support Development Team and Technical Support Team
  • Engages, develops, and retains top talent
  • Builds a great team and champions a collaborative culture across Global Services & Support and relevant business partners
  • Develops and implements strategies to address evolving documentation needs of partners and supports business growth over time.
  • Strategizes and implements integration of AI tool usage into team workflows
  • Represents and advocates for team of Technical Writers, removes barriers, sets priorities and manages team resources to ensure maximum efficacy
  • Works with team to develop efficient and effective tracking and documentation tools to enable outstanding service and support
  • Strategizes growth and development of Global Service and Support Knowledge ecosystems
  • Remotely leads a global team, ensuring alignment of policies, processes, and responsibilities across regions
  • Uses data optimally to drive decisions, build advocacy and consensus
  • Effectively uses PPI business system and embodies a culture of continuous improvement
  • Reports global trends and findings to key collaborators across functional groups

Skills and Experience

  • B.S. degree with either scientific, engineering, or writing focus preferred, 5+ years of technical writing experience; will consider candidates with confirmed writing, editing, and leadership capabilities in lieu of experience.
  • Validated management and leadership skills with ability to Inspire, influence, and empower employees
  • Outstanding and adaptable communication with an astute attention to detail & accuracy that enable effective exchange across different functional groups
  • Capacity to summarize and break down sophisticated information into digestible key points for various partners
  • Strong relationship building & maintaining skills across all levels of the organization
  • Confirmed capability to prioritize and balance multiple urgent tasks
  • Ability to engage with diverse, cross-functional teams across different global regions and time-zones
  • Knowledge of Global Services & Support customer-facing teams, their tools and processes would be of advantage
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% (domestic and international) when applicable

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00-$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
