Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Mechanical Engineering to join our world-class team in the Research and Development organization for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a team of engineers in Eindhoven and Brno with a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions in the field of mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a group of 15-20 engineers in Mechanical Engineering R&D department, ensuring projects are driven seamlessly and timelines are met with precision.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to identify project requirements and effectively implement creative solutions.
  • Take charge of driving the development of innovative products, drawing upon your established skills and proficiency in mechanical engineering.
  • Compete in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality results and contribute to the company's ambitious growth targets.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Connect with industrial partners, knowledge centers and universities on the development of new concepts or modules to support our product roadmap.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with experience in design principles of mechanical system development.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering sophisticated mechanical engineering projects.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
