Job Description

The position is based in Uppsala, Sweden at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In Uppsala, we have the largest Swedish site for Thermo Fisher with approximately 800 employees, and we are one of the main headquarters in our division Immunodiagnostic Division (IDD) globally. IDD manufactures and markets diagnostic tests for allergy and autoimmune diseases.

As a manager for the Quality Control Allergy team within the Product Quality department, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of 12 dedicated and knowledgeable employees who are responsible for performing in process controls, quality controls of end products as well as maintaining and developing our quality control process.

A day in the Life:

The role as manager involves working together with the department manager and management team to lead and develop the business towards agreed goals. You will have direct personnel responsibility, which means that you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on employee development, results and goals. You do this in dialogue with the employees and your fellow managers. Additionally, you will be responsible for budget management and the quality control process.

The work is varied and requires that you can manage your area of responsibility and team independently while practicing a coaching leadership. As a member of the PQ management team, it is important that you can contribute to the overall development of the department. The work requires good cooperation with other managers within the department as well as with other functions within the company.

The company and the department implement PPI/Lean Manufacturing principles, making key performance indicators and the visualization of goals and activities essential tools.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Higher education (Master's degree or equivalent) with a biology/chemical engineering or natural science focus.

Experience

  • Proven experience of leadership within the pharmaceutical/medical technology industry
  • Experience of working according to QSR and ISO standards
  • Experience of LEAN work is advantageous

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
