The Electron microscopy business is in 3 business units, Semiconductor, Life Science, and Material Science, each provides solutions for our customers in pathfinding, yield learning, and failure analysis of their processes and manufacturing. Our broad range of high-performance microscopy workflows provides critical data at the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. How will you make an impact...

The Installation Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing of system installations of Electron Microscopes and supports the APAC organization with his project management skills.

The IPM coordinates all systems under installation in a region.

You take ownership of the end-to-end order fulfillment from purchase order (PO), until the customer sign-off and the start of warranty. Acts as the main contact person (spider in the web) for the region and the go-to person for all installation-related items.

For the execution, you are supported by the Regional Service team who provides the resources for the projects.

The IPM is responsible for financial installation targets and has a forecasting responsibility on Quarterly income out of installation completeness.

The IPM reports to the Global Manager Installations and a dotted line to the Regional Field Service Director in their region, actively working with the Field Service Managers/Supervisors

What will you do...

Together with the teams you make sure every project follows the steps of the installation process. This consists of:

Setting and maintaining the installation plan per project including status updates and site readiness along the execution

Interact with all involved parties in installation to enable customer success

Builds clear understanding of expectations with customers, Calls out commercial mismatches to Sales and BU's timely

Coordinate all activities related to the project such as P&L, blocking issues, margin/costs, etc.

Secures the service installation margin by controlling costs per project

Setting financial Forecasts and manages to achieve these

Feedback to CIP teams on needed improvements

How will you get here?

Education

Minimum education requirement is an associates' degree with a demonstrated ability in installation management; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience

Proven experience in the high-tech industry and preferably the service business.

Experience and background in Project management preferably with courses/degree/certification. E.g. IPMA, PMP, Prince, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English, and other languages are a plus.
  • Ability to effectively connect with people and be responsible for the project working with cross-functional, cross-cultural teams, customers and/or other parties in a project.
  • Builds trust and encourages respect for internal teams as well as customers
  • Possess problem-solving skills. Can influence others and negotiates to solutions.
  • Quick learner in understanding business processes
  • Flexible, always ready to jump into operational issues which pop -up and need solutions.
  • Highly motivated and driven to achieve goals, does not take "no" as an answer.
  • Looks critical to processes and can improve these
  • Digital literacy CRM, MS Project, MS Office
  • Travel on occasion to customer and internal Thermo Fisher Scientific offices (10-15%)

The starting salary for this position is $ 120000 annually. including a 10% Bonus payment based on targets
