Location/Division Specific Information
We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose "high-end" measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets. At our site, we work with 100% sustainable energy, which we generate in part through our own solar system. Our new heat pump system converts waste heat from production into heating energy for the building and our electric pool cars, electric cargo bike and job ticket mean that our employees are also environmentally friendly when travelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Investigating, selecting and helping to define new features/products for the LSMS business.
- Formulating and writing a Business Case to justify the investment required to develop and market new products.
- Upon approval of a new product development (NPD) initiative, becoming an active member of a cross-functional Core Team.
- Developing and writing a Products Requirements Document for the newly approved NPD.
- Being responsible and accountable for the fulfillment of the associated Business Case.
- Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, working with all functions to execute the plan.
- Working with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.
- Monitoring current product key performance indicators (KPIs) - the profitability, actual versus planned revenue, customer satisfaction and market share.
- Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, including pricing and delivery models.
- Answering escalated technical questions from sales
- Together with Product Marketing, support the commercial organization in selling the products.
- Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
- Demonstrated technical/scientific knowledge of proteomics and intact protein characterization.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining modern nano HPLC and LC/MS platforms.
- Expertise in modern (nano) chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques in the field of proteomics, intact protein characterization and trace-level analysis including method development and data analysis.
- Comfortable working within a cross-functional, distributed, international team.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, flexible environment.
- Track record of achievement and delivering on significant responsibilities in a timely fashion.
- Ability to work with minimal direction to find and define innovative solutions.
- Prior scientific publication record.
- Demonstrated strong oral & written communications and interpersonal/relationship skills, strong customer orientation.
- High comfort level interacting and discussing how products are used with customers.
- PhD degree in any of the extended fields of Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Ability to travel 25%+ including internationally.
