Job Description

Summarized Purpose:

Manages a team of professionals who provide analysis and reporting on commercial contracts and financial support to internal operations. Ensures project financials are properly monitored and managed in pursuit of maximizing project profitability and cash flow.

Essential Functions and Other Job Information:

  • Oversees team's daily activities including the review of all project budgets and financial issues.
  • Manages contract deliverables and contract-specific financial reporting.
  • Oversees budgets that require senior attention with respect to revenue exposure, risk, or client needs.
  • Manages client relationship for assigned account(s) with responsibility for contract negotiations, issue resolution, and delivery of reporting.
  • Tracks timeliness and quality of deliverables and provides necessary reporting.
  • Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations.
  • Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime. Policy & Strategy Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
  • Freedom to Act Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks.
  • Liaison Interacts frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Interaction typically concerns resolution of operational and scheduling issues

Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience. 2+ year of leadership responsibility Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Good supervisory and management skills
  • Proficiency in problem solving and prioritizing
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills for analysis and presentation of data Good business acumen
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressure Management Role: Manages experienced professionals and / or subordinate management who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Often heads one or more sections or a small department.
