Position Summary:

The Distribution Manager is responsible for Inventory Control, Logistics, Receiving, and Shipping. They will facilitate excellent customer service and timely material delivery, while meeting manufacturing goals and objectives. This role involves collaborating with Customer Service, Planning, Inventory Control, and Program Management. The Distribution Manager establishes processes, procedures, and mentors the on-site team to improve service metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained and the area is strictly kept in a clean, tidy, and safe state at all times. Carry out incident and accident investigations, ensuring robust countermeasures are successfully performed.
  • Lead several teams including receiving, delivery, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and logistics.
  • Participate in the new candidate selection process, train, and evaluate staff's performance.
  • Conduct daily walk-arounds, ensuring daily checks are conducted within all work areas - reporting into the Tier meetings at various levels.
  • Ensure all required shipments are processed and all cycle counts are completed daily with actions for items that fall within the scope of corrective action.
  • Supervise staff in a manner that is consistent with our organizational culture, based on Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Actively seek development opportunities for the team and self.
  • Promote a transparent and open work environment, positive employee morale, consistent frequent communication, and collaboration. Reinforce a customer-focused orientation with all employees.
  • Coach and mentor site personnel to lead and participate in improvement efforts.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer situations when required.
  • Regularly interact with the site leadership team to support meeting customer and company goals.
  • Develop critical metrics, track trends, and implement standard methodologies. Report business metrics, targets, and new opportunities.
  • Participate and support PPI (Practical Process Improvement) efforts and focus on improving processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least seven to ten years of proven experience in a people management role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting; experience in ISO 13485 or GMP environment preferred.
  • Diligent problem solver, solution-focused, cultivates a collaborative work setting.
  • Excellent computer/software skills. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate employees, establish relationships with peers, and provide customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and communication skills needed to express ideas clearly, share technical information, and communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization. Ability to handle conflict resolution and provide constructive feedback is a must.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills required to evaluate and interpret information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess organizational skills to meet deadlines and assist staff in multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated, stress and pressure resistant, as well as a quick learner.
