The Materials and Structural Analysis business helps customers drive ground breaking research and discoveries by delivering innovative microscopy, spectroscopy and microanalysis solutions, such as world-class Electron Failure Analysis solutions for the Semiconductor industry. As the Applications Engineering Manager, you will manage the growth and development of your team, ensuring flawless system validations, developing world-class applications, and driving the requirements for new products and options. This position has a high-visibility within the organization and the ability to influence product roadmaps and strategic decisions!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Elucidate the growth paths available for Applications Engineers and guide their development
  • Champion development of new Semiconductor Electrical Failure Analysis applications, preferably in collaboration with customers.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Marketing to schedule and perform demos and evaluations
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to ensure the shipment of high-quality systems to customers according to system acceptance specifications
  • Develop and deploy customer and field application training programs.
  • Provide product feedback to Product Marketing and Product Engineering for enhancing system features and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional groups to explore commonalities and workflows

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or Master's Degree (M.S.) in a science or engineering related field from a four-year college or university
  • Experience in applications engineering, project management, product marketing.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication, and presentation abilities
  • Proven track-record to network and form relationships with industry experts
  • Knowledge of semiconductor process technology is highly desired
  • Independently motivated to meet commitments and handle project timelines
  • Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher Scientific values (The Four I's) - Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • This position requires domestic and international travel

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $112,500.00-$150,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
