Position Summary:
The position will play a lead role in the Manila GBS Accounting Operations team of the Thermo Fisher Scientific groups supported out of the Centre. The role requires deep understanding of operational finance end to end processes. It must provide a high standard of business partnering to the Global Financial Accounting team, the GBS Enablement teams, and Accounting Operations teams located in other GBS centres.
The successful candidate must be prepared to take ownership of the Accounting Operations activities under the team's remit, ensuring the team works collaboratively at pace, and delivers timely US GAAP reporting results. They must be assured at working in a large multi-national; complex structure, with the ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Key to the role will be the ability to execute on continuous improvement and bringing others on the journey through strong influencing skills.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the Accounting Operations team in the Manila GBS RtR team.
• Apply Leader Standard Work to manage, coach, motivate and develop this team of finance professionals, leading and driving a performance and customer first culture.
• Accountable for ensuring that all RtR Accounting Operations activities in these teams are completed to quality standards expected, and delivered timely.
• Use Tier Daily Management to ensure that all problems are highlighted for resolution.
• Ensure all financial compliance and (SOX) control measures required of this team are executed without exception
• Deliver operational excellence through KPI improvement.
• Prepare RtR performance reviews to present to GBS Senior Leaders.
• Promote and drive continuous improvement culture in the teams, taking accountability for the annual productivity targets.

Content master in the field of credit and/or collection with a strong systematic knowledge of accounting principles and internal processes and standards.

Demonstrated diplomacy, integrity and ethical standards.
- Qualifications and experience:
Fluent in English
Qualified Accountant, or qualified by experience.
Deep Accounting Operations knowledge.
Management level people leader experience.
Experience working in a large corporate environment, with outstanding organisational skills.
High level of proactivity to drive continuous improvement.
Ability to drive growth through excellent decision making.
