Position Summary:
The Manager position is in the Record to Report (RtR) team of our Global Business Services (GBS) Shared Service Centre. The team provides financial controllership in the region for three of the Thermo Fisher Scientific groups - Clinical Research Group (CRG), Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group (LSLPG), Special Diagnostics Group (SDG) and Analytical Instruments Group (AIG). We are responsible for a large number of entities reporting a total of over $10 Billion in revenue per year!

This position reports to the Senior Manager RTR and oversees the Financial Accounting team. It ensures the accuracy of financial records for multiple EMEA legal entities. The role involves collaborating with different departments and leading a team of 2.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the timeliness of US GAAP financial reporting for the EMEA region.
  • Mentor, coach and develop the team of finance professionals and driving a performance and customer first culture.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for project and initiative inquiries from business and customers, collaborating with other finance departments and functions.
  • Facilitate monthly business reviews with collaborators
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of balance sheets and communicate findings to collaborators
  • Ensure financial compliance and SOX control measures required are completed without exception.
  • Deliver operational excellence
  • Lead, promote and drive a PPI culture in the team, taking accountability for the delivery of projects feeding into the annual productivity targets

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Skilled in effectively communicating and presenting to diverse collaborators
  • People Management experience
  • Able to organise and prioritise multiple complex situations
  • Accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the role
  • High level of proactivity to drive continuous improvement
  • Deep technical accounting expertise
  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP (Desired but not essential)
