Legal Counsel

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Legal Counsel with a strong track record of providing comprehensive legal counseling and mentorship to join our world-class legal team in Seoul. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-depth legal counseling and mentorship to team members, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the healthcare and bioscience industry.
  • Identify and develop the talent and capabilities of each team member through training and mentorship programs.
  • Set up and implement goal-setting processes to drive individual and team success.
  • Establish well-defined roles and responsibilities within the legal team, improving efficiency and accountability.
  • Engage in effective discussions with the Legal & Compliance Director to improve leadership within the legal team.
  • Strategically handle government agency investigations and mediations, developing strong legal strategies.
  • Defend against distributors' requests for mediation through effective legal representation.
  • Provide legal advice on marketing events and research activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal frameworks.
  • Handle internal investigations and compliance issues, implementing remedial action plans.
  • Review legal issues arising in corporate business and provide counseling on contractual risks.
  • Act as a business partner in management team meetings, providing legal insights and mentorship to support decision-making processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated Law School in Korea required. Lawyer or Master/Doctor degree in Korea/US is a plus
    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven experience in providing legal counsel in the healthcare or bioscience industry.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Korean.
