A Day in the Life:

  • Perform all assignments in strict accordance with approved procedures.
  • Familiarize with building automation systems like Honeywell.
  • Maintain HVAC and Refrigeration equipment as part of our preventive maintenance program.
  • Adhere to established HVAC & R and HEPA work order preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and test equipment to determine malfunctions or causes of breakdowns; replace faulty parts and re-test for accurate functionality.
  • Install, repair, and service electric or pneumatic control systems used for building HVAC systems.
  • Operate, service, and repair conventional mechanical industrial and commercial refrigeration/air conditioning equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, clean, adjust, and install centralized plant equipment.
  • Modify HVAC systems to support all relocations/moves satisfactorily.
  • Capable of brazing and soldering.
  • Exercise sound professional decision-making and technical skills.
  • Work with minimal supervision and function cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Pay attention to detail, deliver outstanding service, and maintain high levels of energy and endurance.
  • Plan and coordinate work, understanding the importance of work task priority.
  • Continue training to stay updated with the latest equipment and technologies.
  • Work rotational shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Assist in maintaining HEPA certifications and equipment calibration results in our CMMS.
  • Follow federal, state, and local codes.
  • Support in crafting job plans, SOPs, and JSA.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • CFC certification.

Experience:

  • Trade or Technical degree in mechanical or HVAC technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of practical maintenance experience in an FDA-regulated industry with prior leadership experience.
  • Experience with low-temperature freezers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Proficient in maintenance requirements with technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, pneumatics, electronics, maintenance planning, and scheduling.
  • Skilled in maintenance inventory control, warehouse operations, preventive maintenance programs, and CMMS.
  • Ability to work in a clean-room environment with controlled temperature and humidity.
  • Ability to work in extreme climates and wear gowning and PPE.
  • Lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds unassisted; frequent lifting of 10-35 pounds unassisted.
  • Frequently stand, sit, reach, stoop, bend, and grasp.
  • Use hand tools and equipment, including forceful gripping and pushing.
  • Work at elevated heights from a ladder or other means.
