Location/Division Specific Information:
This position is located in Fort Collins, CO which is home to our Cell Sorting Instrumentation center of excellence. How will you make an impact?

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician that will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all in-house R&D instrumentation. The ideal candidate would take a proactive approach to maintaining the performance and quality of each piece of equipment. You would possess strong, hands-on technical troubleshooting skills of sophisticated electro-mechanical instrumentation. You will work closely with the multi-functional R&D Engineering team to ensure that instruments meet configuration, performance, and quality standards.

What you will do:

  • Setup and operate analytical instruments and test equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all R&D instrumentation
  • Install hardware, firmware, and software updates on instrumentation
  • Create and maintain an accurate service and upgrade history of each piece of equipment
  • Build, document, and maintain a configuration management system used to track the configuration of all R&D instrumentation
  • Perform experiments under the direction of a scientist, engineer or project manager
  • Collect, manage, and communicate results of test data to management
  • Perform basic graphing and data analysis in MS-Excel
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support to assist with fabrication and installation of prototypes
  • Help transition new products from R&D to Manufacturing and Service
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and accurately stocked spare-parts and tooling inventory

How you will get here:

Education

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, physical science or a related field with two years of work experience or an associate's degree plus five years' experience is helpful.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience with trouble-shooting electrical/mechanical equipment is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a configuration-management tool

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of test equipment is required. For example, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, pressure sensors, and mass flow controllers.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of common analog and digital circuits and schematics, and is able to work with, and understand mechanical drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Create and maintain an organized and clean work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • The suitable candidate will be a highly motivated and team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Completes tasks in effective and/or resourceful ways.
  • Demonstrates considerable judgment and initiative in resolving issues, analyzing data, and completing assignments.
  • A proven record of delivering results on schedule is encouraged.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel as a scientific tool.

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Colorado is $27.00-$44.00.
