The Lead Accounts Receivable Representative role is an outstanding opportunity to be in charge of important accounting tasks in Durham, NC. You will have the authority to complete crucial accounting functions, while collaborating with customers, banks, and company employees. Your drive and expertise will play a crucial role in our success.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable processing, including cash posting, documentation, critical issues and analysis, and process improvement.
  • Collections
  • Monthly reconciliation of key accounts in the general ledger
  • Month-end close process support, including journal entry posting/logging, system validations, and key file maintenance
  • Sales tax support including sales tax exemption certificate validation, invoice adjustments, coordinating returns, associated reporting, and audit support
  • Excise, VAT, and other tax support as needed
  • Accounts Payable support as necessary, including invoice processing.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures manual for all tasks
  • Other accounting-related duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and lead multiple and diverse projects with minimal direction
  • Success and ability to effectively get along with other teams within the Company such as sales, customer service, and distribution
  • Ability to appropriately represent the Company to internal and external clients
  • Maintenance of regular attendance and punctuality is a condition of employment and a crucial function for any position within the Company
  • Ability to accurately understand and follow established Company policies, procedures and objectives
  • Minimum requirement of a High School diploma or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference for a 2- or 4-year degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2 years of experience and proven understanding of commonly used Accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficient digital literacy and technical knowledge in using accounting systems, Microsoft Office, email, web searches and database entry
  • Knowledge of InforA+ ERP preferred
