Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to leverage the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain insect and mammalian cell cultures, perform cell transfections for recombinant protein expression.
- Contribute to the design of new constructs and mutants based on structural analysis.
- Work closely with the protein production and biophysics teams to select the best constructs and conditions for structural and animal studies.
- Carry out protein purification tasks as required by the project to generate structural reagents.
- Perform biochemical and biophysical experiments to characterize the purified proteins.
- Document your work and ensure appropriate quality control experiments are carried out to support intellectual property and reagent reuse by other groups.
- Present results and progress updates at team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6+ years') or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 1+ year's hands on experience on the protein expression, purification in the research lab or biological manufacture facility is preferred.
- Hands on experience on common lab technics including liquid chromatography (SEC, ion-exchange, affinity columns), SDS-PAGE, western blot.
- Computer skills in Windows operating system and common office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in molecular biology techniques, cloning, PCR, Gel electrophoresis
- Knowledge of biophysical techniques for characterization of antibody-antigen complexes such as Mass Photometry/Spectroscopy, Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF), HPLC, Differential Scanning calorimetry (DSC), isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is a plus.
- Able to efficiently manage uncertainty, changes in priority and timeline restrictions.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $40.00-$55.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
