Job Description
Position Summary: This position is within the Fisher BioServices business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Laboratory Technician will assist in manual and automated laboratory processing of biological materials, including aliquoting and sample preparation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares aliquots of samples and other laboratory procedures
- Communicates with supervisor about any sample discrepancies found, and aids in resolving them.

- Receives, processes, and stores biological specimens using a variety of database applications.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
The qualifications listed below are representative of knowledge, skill and/or ability. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty.
- Requires knowledge of handling of infectious substances.
- Requires knowledge of good aseptic technique.
- Requires flexibility to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Must have and be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prefers experience with temperature sensitive materials.
- Prefers knowledge of LIMS and Good Laboratory Practices.
- Prefers experience with DNA and/or RNA extraction.
- Prefers experience working with human blood and blood products.
Education
- HS Diploma or GED required.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $17.89-$25.25.
