Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative I who will play a part in supporting our Biosciences Division instruments, reagents and consumables portfolio. Your key responsibility will be to drive revenue growth, implement our sales strategies, ensure overall customer satisfaction by selling consumables and instruments within our life science product portfolio. You will regularly engage with customers and establish strong relationships with both new and existing customers.

Responsibilities

Plan Performance and Sales Skills

Attain or exceed assigned sales targets and market share goals consistently for the business portfolio by analysing data sources. Apply selling skills to maintain existing business, develop incremental business in existing accounts, and conduct cold calls to develop new accounts. Achieve customer phone contact objectives to deliver sales, address customers needs, and participate in sales training programs as presented by the Company.

Account Management

Meet all sales call objectives, complete assigned tasks and reports in a timely and complete manner while ensuring high efficiency during key selling time. Develop organizational skills vital to successfully lead territory sales activities. Understand the competitive landscape within accounts and provide suitable products from our portfolio. Support marketing events and maintain, expand the current customer database using our customer relations management software. Effectively use company systems to record and make use of customer and sales information. Allocate adequate time for daily prospecting of new customers. Meet or exceed set guidelines for the expected number of sales calls to be conducted daily. Make outbound telephone calls to all organizational levels and functional areas where purchasing decisions are made. Regularly communicate both orally and in writing about achievements, setbacks, and effective approaches to improve the overall operational efficiency of the team, region, and sales organization. Engage with research scientists at various accounts to schedule sales presentations and offer information via telephone and email regularly. Engage with colleagues in cross divisional matrix structure.

Technical Comprehension

Provide product and other relevant information to customers via daily phone contact and email for all aspects of required business to generate incremental sales. Apply extensive knowledge of products, benefits and their applications to actively engage in professional selling conversations. Apply understanding of customers and competitor dynamics to recommend the most suitable solution to the customer.

Leadership

Exhibit role model leadership behaviours amongst peers. Collection, analyse, and deliver information to allow the company to develop strategies and products appropriate to the market, including forecasting and lost order reporting as well as competitive information. Ensure that all permit required documents are processed to ensure delivery of products. Work with the planning team to ensure assurance of FBS supply in the region. Exhibit a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing business environment. Can see hidden problems and looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers. Adhere to company policies and procedures and strive to present a professional image as a company ambassador and promote Africa within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. A minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience, with lab and telephonic sales experience preferred

High level of proficiency in technical selling skills and product knowledge within our portfolio. Excellent professional selling, negotiation, and communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues and customers at all levels. In-depth knowledge of Molecular Biology, Protein and Cell Biology, and real-time PCR (qPCR). Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or like programs
