Main task is to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees. This position will report to the EHS manager and have primary responsibility of supporting the Budapest site operations. Responsible for creating, driving, and maintaining a healthy, safe, and secure working environment in accordance with current occupational safety and fire safety legislations and company HSW policies and procedures. This role involves providing administrative support, conducting inspections, organizing training programs, and assisting with incident investigations. The EHS Specialist will partner closely with the Site EHS Manager and other customers to ensure the efficient management of EHS programs, health related activities, and engagement endeavors.

What will you do?

  • Conduct thorough inspections, investigations, and evaluations of site operations to assess environmental conditions, identify health hazards, and investigate hazards, near misses, and incidents to resolve root causes.
  • Provide administrative support to the Site EHS Manager, including maintaining EHS records, tracking legal and policy compliance, preparing regular and ad-hoc reports to Management and authorities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement, follow up the action plans and the resolved necessary steps to be taken.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of EHS training programs for employees, including new hire onboarding and annual trainings.
  • Support incident investigations, including gathering information, interviewing witnesses, and preparing incident reports.
  • Maintain and update EHS documentation, policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Keep a close eye on metrics, such as incident rates, near misses, and corrective actions, to ensure accurate tracking and monitoring.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Support the development and implementation of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Crisis Management Plans.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of Emergency Response Plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture and drive EHS initiatives.
  • Facilitate and follow-up on actions from various functions and departments in EHS improvement activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of EHS audits and inspections by regulatory agencies, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Assist the design and implementation of activities, procedures, and campaigns to improve the overall health and wellbeing of employees, such as general physical and mental health campaigns, work/social balance, and social responsibility.
  • Work in collaboration with the EHS manager, local Talent Acquisition and HR teams to fulfill the goals set out in the equal opportunities plan, to help in the search, selection and integration of colleagues with altered work ability. Participates in the organization of EO workshops, external events and job fairs.
  • Promote EHS values and principles through communication, consultation, and engagement with internal and external partners through meetings, dialogue, training, and support to ensure "Safety Starts With Me" and Environment Sustainable Culture is developed within the organization.
  • Support the Site EHS Manager in maintaining positive relationships with employees, internal and external collaborators.
  • Providing training and awareness on environmental safety topics.
  • Collaborate with site functional teams and leadership to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources to achieve EHS objectives and site operational excellence.

How will you get here?

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific fields such as Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering.

Experience

Experience in a work safety fire safety or environmental safety (EHS) role or Facility/Property management role is an advantage.

Self-directed individual with a validated ability to handle/influence across and up into the organization without direct reporting responsibility.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities, adept at running multiple tasks and meeting due dates.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with various partners, including senior leadership, cross-functional teams and local authorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to make sound decisions. .
  • Meticulous and proficient in accurately analyzing data and information
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong administrative skills, with the ability to run multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with auditing and Business Continuity processes is an advantage.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
