Position Summary:

As the Head of Electron Microscopy at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have a unique opportunity to lead the development and execution of a strategic plan to increase revenue and market share in the Electron Microscopy business in India. Your expertise and knowledge will enable you to build strong relationships with existing clients and attract new ones, driving business growth. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic growth plan for the Electron Microscopy business in India.
  • Create and implement quarterly and annual regional business plans.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitor research to develop targeted strategies based on customer and product segmentation.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key customers to drive long-term revenue generation and business partnerships.
  • Identify and establish a network of distributors to expand market presence and seize potential opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain processes and procedures to ensure high Customer Allegiance Scores.
  • Collaborate with teams from various departments, including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance, to develop processes that prioritize customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the Application & Service team to enhance pre- and post-sales support.
  • Lead and coach a team of senior regional commercial managers and frontline sales personnel.
  • Collaborate with local and global collaborators to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Drive process improvements and pursue long-term business gains through projects.
  • Stay updated on market and customer research to provide valuable insights to individuals within our organization and external partners.
  • Travel domestically at least 50%-60% of the time to build and maintain customer relationships and establish connections with senior leadership and distributors.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or equivalent experience; MS, Ph.D., or MBA helpful.
  • Minimum of 15 years of work experience in long & short sales cycle instruments/equipment/life science research/scientific products in relevant market sectors.
  • At least 7-8 years of experience leading a regional/national sales team.
  • Proficiency in sales CRM platforms preferred.

Proficiencies:

  • Ability to effectively navigate a matrix interpersonal structure.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, business/sales savvy, and understanding of P&L.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, and measure using structured methodologies.
  • Demonstrates proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving desired outcomes.
  • Strong emphasis on collaboration and willingness to openly share strategies, tactics, and analytics.
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
