PPD, the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has an opening for a Graphic Designer to use visual storytelling to engage, inform, and encourage readers. We are looking for a dedicated designer who can take concepts and ideas and build visual representations, in both print and electronic media.

The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience, strong knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to result. Collaborating with multiple teams globally, you will be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects with potential patients for clinical trials. You will have a detailed understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for each project.
Responsibilities:
- Translate strategy into high-quality design on a wide range of projects and media, using the Adobe suite of software to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business objectives.
- Acquire input from key partners to ensure that designs meet the standards of the study and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately.
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with team members on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and build solutions that improve design capabilities.
- Develop concepts and complete by settling ideal usage of color, typography, imagery, and layout. Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials.
- Use trend knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and completing specific classifications.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous writing experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2-3 years' experience)
- Experience with relevant Adobe design software
- Video and animation experience (preferred)
- In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability in professional graphic design.
- Working knowledge of UX and/or UI and able to build prototypes.
- Outstanding creativity and innovative design skills.
- Interpersonal and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Desire to continue building skills with education and training.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.
- Technical and systems competency, such as computer skills, to include effective use of systems and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Initiative-taking, solutions oriented and adaptable to changing priorities and situations.
- Good judgment and decision making skills.
- Effective oral and written English communication and presentation skills.
