This role is a member of our global supply chain team for Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry (CMD) business. You will engage cross functional teams in various locations so as operate an effective and efficient sales inventory and operations plan (SIOP) process. You will also provide the data and meaningful insights for conducting our operating cadence and ultimately, to achieve our CMD Goal Tree.

A day in the Life:

  • Be a member of our Global CMD Sales, Inventory and Operations (SIOP) team and will operate a standard monthly SIOP process and scenarios for Gas Chromatography (GC) Business Unit (BU). Using forecasting tool, data analytics and work closely with CMD Demand Planning, Product Managers and BU Finance, you will generate accurate demand signals for our instruments. You will measure and improve demand forecasting accuracy.
  • Prepare the production/ build and inventory targets and plans for our factories, sales hubs and key suppliers monthly and for our annual operation plan (AOP). You will implement approved supply chain initiatives to enable BU to achieve business goals, including new product introduction (NPI) launches and cycle time reduction.
  • Lead a weekly sales, inventory & execution (SIOE)/ pulse review. When required, drive global allocation exercise to increase business impact. Proactively close any bookings and revenue gaps with respective factories, BU and Commercial offices.
  • Optimize inventory planning & deployment across the supply chain network for GC customers and backlog fulfillment for all GC parts. You will apply Thermo Fisher Practical process improvement (PPI) system to drive Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) reduction, Day of Supply (DOS) improvements and join our exciting continuous improvement culture.
  • Generate reports and scorecards as needed accurately and timely. You will assist our CMD global SIOP team in the development of a leading class SIOP tool and process in Thermo Fisher.

Keys to Success:

A supply chain and global operations professional with excellent communication skills and a growth mindset. Able to process data to insights and provide recommendations for decision making.

Education

Possesses a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of tertiary education and work experience.

Experience

  • 5 years (or more) working in a mature SIOP planning environment. Demand forecasting expertise will be an advantage.
  • APICS CPIM qualifications and relevant supply chain project deployment experience preferred.


  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous with numbers and able to provide impactful insights supported by data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools e.g. Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI. VBA programming or dashboard development skills would be an asset.
  • Working with ERP system (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to work evenings on a weekly basis to accommodate global business needs.
