Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is an outstanding partnership that allows our customers to use the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.

This is an onsite position located in Collegeville, PA.

Our client is hiring a scientist focused on bioassays.

Discover Impactful Work

The Scientist possesses a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and can reliably conduct complex analysis with increased independence. Performs a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations and/or biological matrices. Follows validated or experimental analytical procedures with periodic direct supervision. Responsible for review and compilation of results and data comparison against SOP acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol and product specifications. Enters data into databases and reports. Performs self review for own data prior to QC submission.

A day in the Life

  • Developing, qualifying and validating biological assays in support of drug development with supervision.
  • Routine sample testing support.
  • Routine cell culture maintenance and generation of cell banks.

Keys to Success

Education and Experience

  • BS degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, immunology, or closely related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience OR a MS Degree in a related field
  • Prior experience with cell culture, bioassay and aseptic techniques
  • Experience with designing, troubleshooting, and executing bioassay experiments with some supervision.
  • Experience analyzing data, interpreting results, and reporting data in laboratory notebooks.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete laboratory records.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and concepts.
    In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience in running and analyzing cell-based potency bioassays in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology or academic environment.
  • Experience performing biochemistry/biology techniques such as ELISA, Western blot, SPR, or RT-qPCR is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience using laboratory automation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence.
  • Strong technical writing skills for documentation.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis of experimental results.
  • Demonstration of a high level of scientific rigor and integrity.
