Job Description

This role is HYBRID with an office base of Cramlington.

As the Financial Controller, Operations, you will play a crucial role in providing finance, accounting, and compliance support to our Cramlington, UK site. You will lead a finance and accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting while implementing robust accounting, controls, and compliance procedures. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and strengthening accounting processes, designing and monitoring controls and systems, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing mentorship on sophisticated financial accounting transactions. Additionally, you will lead internal and external audit requirements, drive continuous improvement, and exercise sound data stewardship.

To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates with an undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent experience. While a CPA and/or Chartered Accountant certification is desired, it is not mandatory. We require a minimum of 8 years' experience in accounting, controls, or audit, and a strong understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls. Proficiency in Excel is a must, and experience with R12 ERP (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as a proactive and accountable approach, are key to succeeding in this role.
