Field Product Specialist lll, Laboratory Chemicals Division for the Netherlands

What is the role

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Field Product Specialist III and be part of our Laboratory Chemicals Division. This role focuses on developing and maintaining customer relationships for our market-leading laboratory reagents and custom/bulk chemicals and blends.

  • Achieve or exceed sales quota and objectives by developing and implementing an effective territory business plan
  • Provide accurate business forecasts for all the products in scope
  • Establish outstanding working relationships with local sales teams and lateral functions (e.g., marketing, service, support, customer service). Train, enable, and support sales representatives in promoting our range of products.
  • Partner with distributor sales teams operating in the UK to support the territory
  • Maintain SalesForce for all visits and opportunities, ensuring it remains a valuable tool for tracking opportunities and forecasting accurately
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the product portfolio and competitive offerings, sharing insights with internal colleagues
  • Coordinate, evaluate, attend, and support local trade shows and conferences with flexibility to accommodate customer requirements
  • Keep abreast of current and potential activities that may impact revenues, including funding, market dynamics, and end-user needs
  • Maintain contact with existing customers to promote new products, close deals, and grow sales, while developing new prospects
  • Play an active role within your team by sharing leads, developing opportunities, contributing to team spirit, and enhancing business processes with standard methodologies.
  • Attend all required sales meetings and training sessions, and consequently implement new skills gained

What we are looking for

  • Background in Chemistry through a relevant degree or equivalent knowledge and industry/functional experience
  • Minimum of 1 year (preferably over 3 years) of professional selling experience
  • Experience in a large matrix organization is highly appreciated
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel between 50%-70% in the territory to implement duties
  • Driven by personal motivation and a desire for success
  • Ability to work independently at a highly technical level
  • Proven problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
  • Excellent clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred home location in the Netherlands
  • Valid driving license
