We are recruiting a dedicated Field Applications Scientist to join our Sequencing team, based in Austria. As a Field Applications Scientist, you will provide scientific expertise, application support, and training to customers, focusing on our Sanger Sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing products. Your role as a trusted expert will improve customer satisfaction and loyalty, contributing to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-house and on-site scientific application support and training on brand products.
  • Perform product demonstrations and present seminars at customer or company sites to diverse audiences.
  • Optimally tackle customer issues through in-depth troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical and application assistance in response to customer inquiries.
  • Support the Service & Support organization in achieving regional training and service contract sales targets through customer interaction.
  • Chip in to sales targets by delivering pre- and post-sales customer support activities specific to product lines.

Qualifications:

  • MSc and/or PhD in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field.
  • Experience in Sanger Sequencing and/or NGS (50%-50% split between both technologies, CE and NGS).
  • Several years of laboratory experience, including expertise in techniques related to Molecular Biology products and applications and proficiency in communicating technical materials in written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Customer focused with the emotional intelligence to understand customer concerns and needs.
  • Commercial insight and a proactive, goal-oriented attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external contacts.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • requiring regular weekly travel (3-4 days per week) and occasional overnight stays within your territory and Central Europe. When not traveling, you will work from home.
