5hrs - Monday to Friday

Shifts rotating on a weekly basis: 7am-3pm and 8.30am-4.30pm

As a key member of our Virology department at the Inchinnan site, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the exceptional work we do. We are looking for an ambitious Engineer/Scientist I, QC who is passionate about quality control and has a consistent track record of success in a similar role. Responsibilities:

  • Perform raw material and finished good release testing according to standard operating procedures, including multiple cell culture and virology testing methods and cell banking.
  • Maintain and complete product testing as per testing procedures and in accordance with ISO 13485.
  • Confidently manage laboratory schedules individually and coordinate staff to ensure required tasks are completed on time.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Perform regular equipment and assay validations to guarantee the precision and dependability of test outcomes.
  • Project lead the introduction of new assets, efficiently integrating them into laboratory operations.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to all team members, encouraging a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Train and cross-train new and existing members of the team to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Act as the QC representative for RCCM sessions, providing valuable insights and advising on required QC testing/support.
  • Attend customer calls and provide technical advice, showcasing your expertise and contributing to customer satisfaction.
  • Lead department programs, taking ownership of initiatives and driving their successful implementation.
  • Review and approve new product creation and changes to specifications.
  • Actively participate in personal development opportunities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to Biology or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar environment is essential, demonstrating your ability to competently perform virology and tissue culture testing methods.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication, facilitating successful collaboration with teams of different expertise and effectively conveying findings.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that every task is completed to the highest standard.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all other departments within the operational department and maintain effective communication with external sources.

As part of your duties, you will be expected to handle tasks like stocking up, which may include moving boxes and pallets.
