Product Quality & Reliability is a cross site team (size: +/- 16 persons) that is responsible for the quality and reliability of new modules and systems, for example Titan microscopes. Our team is involved in multiple module and large-scale system programs in parallel. Besides quality and reliability for regular products we also work on Non-Standard Orders to deliver customer specific solutions.

The Position

As a Product Quality & Reliability (PQR) Engineer you will be in the center of the project team to connect with all team members. You have a strong focus on quality and define entry/handover criteria. Identify, analyze, and mitigate risk areas, propose vital improvements in products and development processes. You will perform activities on system integration and module projects.

How will you make an impact?

  • Key focus on driving quality in System Integration and Module projects.
  • Responsible for Product Quality processes FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and SRA (Safety Risk Assessment) on module and system level.
  • Support the architect to define verifiable requirements and participate in the review process.
  • Build test coverage on requirements, FMEA items, SRA items.
  • Defining and maintaining test procedures and pass/fail criteria.
  • Select and discuss test methods with project team members.
  • Show test progress and mitigation if needed.
  • Support design teams on system and modules, as well as on system integration level to implement Design for Reliability.
  • Develop reliability (growth) models.
  • Implement and support reliability analysis for new developments and predict warranty costs using field feedback and FMEA outcomes.
  • Drive the development of test plans for reliability testing (test to fail) and reliability verification (test to pass).
  • Support the reliability architect to define reliability requirements and budgets.
  • Support the design teams with root-cause analyses for example with statistical engineering and PPI approaches.
  • Support sourcing to advise outsourced developments with quality and reliability.
  • Supply clear overview of status of PQA results to project management and supply reasoned feedback to ensure project readiness.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronic engineering.
  • 5+ years preferred of proven experience.
  • Experience with developing and testing of low volume, complex high-tech systems.
  • Experience with the different development teams (hardware, software, mechanics, mechatronics, and physics).
  • Design for Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in English, Dutch is huge plus.
  • Good communication skills.
