Job Description

Position Summary:

This is a hands-on Software Quality Assurance position that will be responsible for the testing and the end quality of a variety of applications. The candidate for this position will work in an Agile environment with development, Project Management and multiple Business partners and will be responsible for design, development and execution of test plans and test cases. The job will also include, Collaborating with the Agile development team, test planning, manual and automation testing, defect logging/verification, and review of requirements and use-cases. The role promotes QA productivity through automation, tools, and other standard methodologies.

Essential Functions:

  • Focus on quality, security and performance while continuously delivering features and enhancements using Agile and SAFe practices.
  • Validate completeness of requirements, design, code, implement automation test cases and certify product's quality prior to release to production.
  • Design and implement automated and manual test cases
  • Ensure products meet or exceed the specified standards, acceptance criteria and end-user requirements.
  • Actively participate and supply to defining test scope, coverage, and overall strategy for projects.
  • Participate in Backlog grooming and proving LOE
  • Perform Positive/Negative/Integration/Regression/Automation tests
  • Provide feedback on usability, report defects relating to the application, verify defect fixes provided by developers, and take appropriate action based on the validity of the development solutions

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of shown experience as a manual tester
  • Solid understanding and work experience with automation testing tool like selenium/geb using Java, Gradle.
  • Must have good understanding of data base, queries and ability to capture test data independently.
  • Must have good knowledge of web applications, api services; prior domain exposure to eCommerce would be plus.
  • Test management tools (ALM) as well as Jira (Atlassian suite).
  • Experience working in distributed environment
  • Desired end to end test automation skills comprising GUI, Data, API, XML/JSON, webapp level validation.

Additional Skills:

  • Attention to detail are important, as is the ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to complex integrated systems

Additional skills:

Experience working in Agile development environment and tools like Jira would be a plus. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate efficiently with managers, business analysts, web engineers, architects and other technical departments Strong problem solving and fixing abilities with a shown understanding of diverse environments and components - mainframe, Unix, Windows, database, networks, etc
