The Position

The Product Owner has a self-propelling role, working as a member of a software development team within the R&D organization, to build a product vision and roadmap that increases value for our customers.

The team works in an agile environment where the SAFe and Scrum frameworks are applied. Together with your team members, you are responsible for Velox, our flagship user applications that provide acquisition, processing and visualization of multi-modal data coming from microscope our Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) products. This application enables complete autonomy of engineers and scientists on the microscope, but relies on groundbreaking technics to explore material up to the atomic level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Translate the company's customer value propositions into meaningful, industry-leading software (sub)products, that delight our customers.
  • Drive the innovative development of new products through the design, verification, and validation stages.
  • Collect feedback about specific needs by communicating with collaborators on a regular basis and using this information to improve the products.
  • Make the product backlog visible and clear.
  • Handle incoming bug reports and change requests for the product. Handle customer concerns and blocking issues.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by optimizing product performance, improving reliability and stability, continuously balancing the introduction of new features with the implementation of functional and non-functional improvements.
  • Support product development budgeting, process improvement and quality assurance on a central component of our product.
  • Agree with resource managers on efficient staffing of the development team.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated problems. If you enjoy the development of high-performance integrated systems, this is an excellent opportunity.

  • Typically requires MSc, PDEng or PhD in Physics, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in a multidisciplinary high-tech development environment.
  • Ability to handle diverse objectives and problems where analysis of situation or data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Team spirit and excellent interpersonal communicational skills.
  • Strong analytical view combined with pragmatic mentality.
  • You dare to take initiative, you are curious and fast learning.
