Job Description

In the role of Mechanical Engineer you will perform NPI Sustenance activities, testing and documentation duties on projects assigned. Primary responsibilities and skill requirements (not limited to) are mentioned below

  • Works as technical guide in mechanical engineering domain, responsible for technical solutions and engineering specifications. Leads standardizations of mechanical design process, optimizes and popularizes design standard methodology.
  • Leads project plan/execution in system architecture strategy, engineering proposal as well as mechanical design, development, qualification, validation to ensure system level functionality, performance, safety and quality in line with the company product development process
  • Ensures that assigned projects are delivered timely and to specification by solid engineering plans, including quality, cost, schedule, and risk assessment. Reports regularly on project progress.
  • Leads the existing products sustaining, and drives high priority issues to resolution, including long-term corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Approaches problems in a rational manner and with outstanding tools to ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution.
  • Helps team to grow technical depth across product lines.
  • Promotes an environment of learning, coordinates technical training, addresses, and fills technical gaps, and helps to buildup technical pipeline.
  • Effectively interfaces to sourcing, operations, quality, service, and global R&D team, as well as external suppliers, vendors, and customers.
  • Work with Regulatory Affairs team members to acquire the required product approvals such as, U.L., FDA, C.S.A. and European product certifications.
  • Build design documents & artifacts as per design process
  • Technically capable of independently performing design paper study, design modeling, simulation and predictive analysis considering performance parameters.
  • Implement the design optimization and confirmation to requirements by using these analyses.
  • Hands on Experience working with mechanical components and relevant integration design and evaluation
  • Decent experience with Systems Design and Integration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 12+ years' proven experience with Mechanical project governance and execution
    • Demonstrated expertise to apply DFx (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost) knowledge to mechanical designs, expert knowledge in more than two of these specific areas: sheet metal, machining, plastic and die casting, well understanding of the related materials, processes and local supplier capability.
    • Deep knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experienced with tolerance analysis.
    • Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solution to sophisticated problems using outstanding tools, with deep understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design of Experiment (DOE) and FMEA.
    • Knowledge on Engineering systems, Engineering change processes
    • Experience working in a matrix reporting environment preferred
    • Must have good interpersonal skills to work globally and across functions
    • Evident passion, adaptability, initiative, creativity, ownership and problem-solving skills
