How Will You Make An Impact?

You will typically be involved in 2 to 3 projects or activities in parallel. In these projects you can see your mechanical designs grow from a conceptual idea to a finished product for our customers. As spokesperson for your designs, you will be in contact with collaborators throughout the organization and will interact directly on requests related to your designs. The decisions made by you and the team you work with will have direct business impact. Your challenge will be to find solutions for sophisticated mechanical problems, meeting the needs of all your collaborators, combining short term goals with long term needs.

The Role

In this role you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop high tech constructions with cost, specifications and timing in mind.
  • Design for service, manufacturability and reliability
  • Support, steer and empower internal and external mechanical designers(suppliers)
  • Define and specify new designs and drive them to results
  • Conduct FMEA and Safety Risk Assessments
  • Define test plans and strategies
  • Assume a hands-on role in pursuit of testing plans and problem-solving test and reliability work.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you have a suitable background and an adequate level of experience:

  • BSc or MSc degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of demonstrated ability with proven track record of hardware focused design activities
  • Experience with high tech mechanical constructions preferably for Complex Capital Equipment
  • Experience with Design Principles, High Precision Mechanics, Cryogenic designs, Mechatronic designs
  • Experience with tolerance analysis, FMEA, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly and Design of Experiments
  • Experience with UG-NX or other 3DCAD, TeamCenter, FEM
