Job Description

Location: Bothell WA Biosciences Division

What will you do?

  • Implementing AI/ML algorithms for commercial biological or microscopy applications to tackle problems in instrument automation, computational imaging, image analysis, and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding, and practical experience in crafting algorithms that implement a wide range of algorithms, including:
  • Traditional image analysis and processing algorithms.
  • Numerical methods, optimization algorithms.
  • Statistical algorithms.
  • Algorithms such as deep learning, generative models, reinforcement learning.

How will you get here?

Education

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field required, with experience in image processing, AI, and Machine Learning technologies.

Experience

  • Strong statistical, mathematical, and physics background to model sophisticated microscopy and biological systems.
  • Proven track record to produce production-quality software products, including experience in:
  • Multiple programming languages, including C#, C++, Python programming languages.
  • Software engineering principles, such as design patterns and object-oriented programming.
  • Modern agile development processes such as Scrum.
  • Software architecture for sophisticated applications.
  • Authority in developing multi-threaded, quasi-real-time processing, distributed computing, and cloud-based software systems.
  • Experienced in developing algorithms to target different deployment architectures (GPU, CPU) and OS (Windows, Linux).
  • Supply novel ideas in applying AI/ML to address customer problems.
  • Evaluate new technologies and read publications to consider how they can be applied to our applications.
  • Research and prototype commercially viable solutions to satisfy customer requirements, applying prototyping tools such as MATLAB, R, and Python.
  • Work with customer networks, key opinion leaders, and Voice-of-Customer (VOC) resources to validate solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Leading projects, which includes managing schedules, prioritizing work, and breaking work into manageable tasks.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members.
  • Excel in team situations, working with other algorithm developers, software engineers, product managers, biologists, application specialists, software architects, and hardware engineers.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Washington is $95,900.00-$143,825.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
