Job Description

The Position

Are you engineer interested in mechanical engineering, CAD and technical data in general? You have a great opportunity to join High-Tech industry! The Engineering Data Management group completes the selection, prioritization, and implementation of engineering changes within our organization. As an Engineer Mechanical - Change Owner, you will be the key person for investigation, preparation and execution of these changes, ensuring that our technical documentation maintains its quality and maturity.

This unique role provides the opportunity to create new documentation and follow strict archiving and change process protocols for all engineering data. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, and Global Technical Service (GTS) groups, to handle engineering data throughout the product lifecycle seamlessly.

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Completing selected engineering changes throughout Product Lifecycle Management
  • Providing impact analysis of complex engineering changes affecting multiple products over different sites
  • Preparing and tracking implementation plans for assigned engineering changes
  • Assisting MSD Global Operations & Global Technical Service by addressing blocking issues and implementing necessary engineering changes
  • Meeting targets for work-in-progress, cycle time, and other metrics within the scope of activity
  • Leading cross-functional improvement projects from inception to completion
  • Acting as an advisor and role model to peers and project resources to resolve technical documentation issues
  • Developing and maintaining close relationships with Manufacturing, Logistics, Sourcing, NPI/SPR Engineering, GTS, PLM, Quality, and R&D
  • Adhering to work safety, fire safety, hygiene, and other regulatory standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically, 3-5 years of experience with document control tools; CAD experience
  • Experience building and coordinateing sophisticated engineering change implementation scenarios
  • Proven ability to lead project teams in product and process improvements
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and reports using Microsoft Office and Acrobat applications
  • Proven capability to provide clear and concise analysis of data, solve detailed problems, and follow basic experimental methods and procedures
  • Experience in high-tech industry and/or manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of product cost structures, calculating return on investment, and considering business value arguments
  • Ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as needed (up to 25% of the time)
  • Proficient in English and local language (both spoken and written)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
