A day in the Life:

  • Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test, modify, and developmental electrical control and circuitry.
  • Coordinates with contracted engineers for project support.
  • Perform electrical repair of packaging equipment using PLC/HMI software.
  • Design and implement electrical/PLC modifications for new and existing packaging equipment and control panels.
  • 5S ownership of work area, tools, test equipment, and parts in inventory.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Keys to Success:

Education

  • A two-year, certificate or degree related to industrial electricity with 2+ years of equivalent experience preferred OR relevant experience in electrical engineering, cGMP, Bio Tech, pharmaceutical or food and beverage.
  • Consideration may be given to those who hold 5+ years of dynamically responsible and relevant work experience.

Experience

  • 2+ years oof Mechanical/Electrical proficiency / knowledge of machine design and fabrication.
  • Engineering experience; designing, assembling, and completing electrical projects like control circuits and control panels.
  • Experience editing PLC and HMI logic and testing and measuring equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and national electrical codes, including NEC (National Electrical Code). NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and practices, including OSHA regulations related to electrical work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must-have.
  • Proficient with computer software (MS Office), expertise with spreadsheets and ability to learn internal systems
  • Experience with electrical shock protection PPE and arc flash PPE preferred.
  • PLC Certifications (i.e., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Direct Logic, Omron) preferred
  • AutoCAD, Maximo, and Trackwise experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of fulfilling the physical requirements of the role, including the ability to occasionally exert up to 10 lbs. of force or frequently handle negligible amounts of force to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or maneuvering objects. Position involves prolonged sitting but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. May need to stoop, reach, or bend.
