General EHS Team Member Duties:
- Support the EHS Manager with EHS Department responsibilities.
- Devise and support all types of risk assessments, ensuring the adequacy of control measures.
- Successfully implement new EHS systems and processes to support the business.
- Develop and deliver EHS training, workshops, and briefing sessions to ensure compliance.
- Audit compliance against EHS site and corporate policies.
- Represent the company's culture for EHS compliance and be a focal point for advice.
- Participate and contribute to EHS management reviews.
- Perform inspection and spot checks of contractors.
- Handle financial invoice administration and raise POs on time.
- Ensure alignment with COMAH requirements, company rules, policies, and procedures.
- Understand emergency procedures and align with safe systems of work.
- Act as one of the site incident controllers for core hour emergencies.
- Oversee operations at the Waste Management Centre, ensuring adherence to regulations, company protocols, and industry standard methodologies (ISO 14001 and Waste license).
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and the Company Risk Management Department.
- Provide evidence of continuing company compliance and staff environmental performance.
- Advise, train, and assist line managers in handling their waste products.
- Lead dialogue with customers, industry organizations, and competent authorities on Waste Management Centre activities.
- Oversee Waste Management Centre costs, operational issues, capacity planning, and performance.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
- Experience with health and safety systems, including risk assessments, EHS management systems, incident reporting, emergency planning, and response.
- Experience in delivering training to internal partners.
- Auditing and investigation experience.
- Proficient in health and safety management systems, asset risk planning, incident reporting, emergency planning, risk registers, and response policies.
- Computer literate with excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- Certificate of technical competence.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (Desirable).
- Proficient in waste management systems and handling chemical incidents.
- Proven understanding of ISO 14001.
